AMD E-350 Zacate APU Running 3 Applications At Once - Amazing!

Last week we got the opportunity to visit AMD's Austin, Texas headquarters to preview their upcoming 'Brazos' development platform and actually get some hands-on testing with a Fusion APU system prior to its actual launch. This video clip is of a demo that AMD showed us during our visit. It shows an AMD E-350 APU with AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics on-board running Hyper-Pi 32M on both x86 CPU cores, a high-performance computing application on the GPU compute engine and the 3rd Generation Unified Video Decoder (UVD) playing 1080P video content all at the same time.

On Nov. 9, AMD will host financial analysts and media to review achievements and milestones in 2010. But more importantly, AMD executives such as CEO Dirk Meyer and Rick Bergman, senior vice president and general manager of AMD’s product group, will discuss our platform roadmaps and unveil more details about the AMD Fusion family of APUs. Specifically, we’ll unveil details about “Brazos,” the low-power, low-cost platform designed for ultrathin and mainstream notebooks, small form factor desktops and all-in-ones, and netbooks. We’ll also discuss our new APUs that power “Brazos”, codenamed “Zacate” and “Ontario” featuring the low-power “Bobcat” CPU core.
