Intel pushes back Pine Trail-D platform and Clarkdale CPUs to 1Q10

Intel has decided to push back its Pine Trail-D platform for nettops from October 2009 to the first quarter of 2010, in addition to Pine Trail-M for netbooks, while the company's Clarkdale-based processors are also being pushed back to the first quarter of 2010, according to sources at PC makers. Intel recently set a strategy to push mainstream PCs in the second half of 2009 and will postpone most entry-level products into 2010, the sources noted.

The Pine Trail-D platform combines Intel's dual-core Atom D510 or single-core Atom D410 processor with NM10 chipset. Intel will launch two Core i3 processors clocked at 2.93GHz and 3.06GHz, and priced at US$123 and US143 in thousand-unit tray quantities, respectively, in the first quarter of 2010. The company will also launch a Pentium processor clocked at 2.83GHz and priced at US$87. Intel will also launch three Core i5 processors clocked at 3.2GHz, 3.33GHz and 3.46GHz with prices of US$176, US$196 and US$284, respectively. Intel will launch the Core i5-750 (US$196), Core i7-860 (US$284) and Core i7-870 (US$562) in early September, along with the low-power Core i5-750s (US$259) and Core i7-860s (US$337) processors.
