Big shakeup at Yahoo - two senior executives gone!
Yahoo announced a major reorganization last night, addressing critics who for months have questioned the search giant's ability to effectively compete with other Internet companies. According to the release, Chief Operating Officer Dan Rosensweig will leave Yahoo in March. Lloyd Braun, a former ABC executive who has headed Yahoo Media for the past two years, is leaving immediately.
Analysts believe one of the chief reasons behind Yahoo's current woes is its failure to deploy software that could prioritize the placement of the most lucrative ads on its Internet properties. Indeed, during the past year, Yahoo's financial performance has repeatedly disappointed investors who have sent its stock price plunging more than 35 percent. Earlier today, Wenda Harris Millard, Yahoo's chief sales officer, assured investors at a New York conference that Yahoo's advertising business was continuing to grow ``in every single category.''
