Judge blocks law on violent games
A US judge has blocked a law that made it illegal to sell or rent violent games to children. It looks like GTA: San Andreas may have changed the way the World looks at video games, but no new laws will be written because of it. In the mean time frag on! Oh and all the gamers remember when Senator Hilary Clinton runs for president that she leads the fight against video games!
A Californian law that made it illegal to sell or rent violent or sexually explicit games to children has been blocked by a US federal judge. Citing freedom of speech worries US district judge Ronald Whyte granted an injunction to stop the law coming into force on 1 January. Judge Whyte also questioned whether it was possible to ban sales to minors.
