ATI RD580 Motherboad to launch with R580 Video Cards
Fudo says that ATI plans to introduce a new motherboard and new graphic card together during their next launch event. They both have very similar names but R580 is a graphics chip while RD580 is the motherboard. New video cards are in the pipes folks. Who wants the R580 and G71 for the holidays? Dream on!
The R580 VGA chip will have 16 pipelines and 48 pixel shaders and RD580 will have two 16x PCIe lines. ATI is working on world wide availability by the end of January. NVIDIA will do the same and should have its G71 chips up and running and its preparing for early February launch and availability.
