AMD Radeon HD 8000 Series Delayed? LR Looks For Answers

Did AMD announce that the Radeon HD 8000 series would be delayed and that the Radeon HD 7000 series would continue to be the companies primary focus yesterday on Twitter? A number of sites are reporting that Robert Hallock, AMD Radeon marketing manager, did just that on AMD’s Radeon Twitter page. Check out the Tweet below that has caused some people to get all worked up.

AMD Radeon HD 8000 GPU Delay

The Tweet that is causing controversy, basically just says that AMD will be focusing on the AMD Radeon HD 7000 series for the foreseeable future and doesn't mention anything about the AMD Radeon HD 8000 'Sea Islands' graphics card series that gamers are waiting on. Legit Reviews doesn't like spreading rumors, so we reached out to Robert Hallock to confirm that he made the tweet and what is going on with the Radeon HD 8000 series being delayed rumors. Check out what he had to say below. Sounds straight up and honest!

"Yes, I made that comment. I cannot say anything more than what I’ve already said, really. AMD and its partners are happy with the HD 7000 Series, and it will continue to be our emphasis in the channel for the foreseeable future. I should note that HD 8000 Series has never been so much as hinted at for a channel release. Anything to the contrary is an unsubstantiated rumor fabricated to drive traffic." - Robert Hallock
