LaCie Announces XtremKey USB 3.0: Extreme Speed and Strength

Today, LaCie expanded its industrial-strength storage line with the faster, stronger XtremKey USB 3.0. Like its predecessor, the latest LaCie XtremKey features a protective cap made of thick ZAMAC metal alloy. Its strength can withstand severe shock, dizzying drops, and the relentless pressure of a 10-ton vehicle.

It also survives bone chilling temperatures down to -30°C, and scorching heat up to 200°C. It features transfer speeds up to 230MB/s, so it's a fast little USB 3.0 Flash drive as well! The LaCie XtremKey is available now in 32GB for $89.99 and a 64GB model is coming soon.

The LaCie XtremKey is IP-68 Level 8 certified, making it watertight up to 200 meters (656 feet). The memory modules are shielded inside a 2mm casing and sealed with wear-resistant screw threads and a hermetic, rubber O-ring. So if your LaCie XtremKey plunges overboard while scuba diving – grab your gear and dive in after it. Your data will stay dry and secure inside.
