Rumor: Apple To Send iPad 'Mini' Invitations on October 10
The widespread rumors that Apple is to launch a smaller and cheaper iPad 'mini' look to be gaining weight as time marches on. A major Apple investor who wished to be remain anonymous, has said that he heard from "multiple sources" that Apple will be sending out on October 10, press invites to an iPad 'mini' launch party. Unsurprisingly, Apple has not commented on the rumor, having said nothing at all in public about another new iPad.
If the rumor is true, and if Apple follows its usual scheduling protocol, that would suggest a special event to unveil the product on Wednesday, Oct. 17, with a launch day of Friday Nov. 2 -- plenty of time to capture holiday sales.
