Rumor: Half-Life 3 is Open World, Coming in 2014!
A French game news website called journaldugamer is claiming to have information that the long-anticipated Half-Life 3 is being worked on, and that it will feature open-world elements similar to games like Skyrim and Fallout. According to the latest gossip, Gordon Freeman will undertake his next adventure in an open world. The so-called source inside Valve says that development has been chaotic, with Half-Life 3 beginning as a more traditional shooter before switching gears and focusing on exploration and puzzles. This rumored open world version will be the third iteration of the game and is coming in 2014. Is this good or bad? Has Half-Life 3 been influenced by Skyrim?
The person close to Valve has confirmed that the development of Half-Life 3 is well under way, although much work remains. According to her, Half-Life 3 FPS will always be a very action-oriented, but with many RPG elements: open-world, quests and NPCs will be waiting for you! One of the inspirations the developers would also be the series of Elder Scrolls (Skyrim, Oblivion). This is very unexpected direction from Valve that we used to play rather linear but nevertheless excellent.
