NETGEAR To Demonstrate Industry First 802.11ac Cable Gateway
NETGEAR will be demonstrating innovative solutions for cable operators, which just so happens to include a groundbreaking DOCSIS3.0 gateway, which has integrated 802.11ac wireless technology. The demonstration will take place at the ANGA Cable show on June 12-14 in Cologne, Germany. The NETGEAR 802.11ac DOCSIS3.0 gateway which is on display will support wireless connectivity of up to three times faster than what is seen on 802.11n routers today. Using multiple antennae alongside dual band WiFi, this particular cable gateway will increase the range at which consumers can stream HD content in their homes, not to mention the ability to download content to any device far faster than on similar 802.11n devices. With all that said, 802.11ac is an upcoming wireless standard and will become the fastest WiFi in the world by providing gigabit WiFi speeds. Of course the feature list for the new NETGEAR 802.11ac DOCSIS3.0 cable gateway doesn't end there, it also includes NETGEAR Genie which is an app for PC, MAC, iOS and Android devices that will allow users the ability to fully control, monitor, repair, and manage their home network with an easy to use and elegant dashboard.
