Overclocking the Core i7 processor has proven to be a very good opportunity for a lot of extra performance. There are some amazing overclocks coming from these things! I cannot wait to see what kind of results I will get with my water cooler if and when I can get a fitting from Corsair for the i7 platform.
With our Intel stock air cooler, we set out to see how high we could get at default multiplier settings. Voltages were adjusted as needed, and we reached a max vcore setting of 1.55v. We did not see any return raising it any higher. Our results were as follows:
Pretty awesome results! We got a 1.3GHz overclock, which anyone should be pleased with!
