CrystalDiskMark v2.2
CrystalDiskMark is a small HDD benchmark utility for your hard drive that enables you to rapidly measure sequential and random read/write speeds.
100MB Files Test:
Benchmark Results: The Seagate Momentus 7200.2 200GB drive had a peak read speed of 60MBps and a write speed of 49MBps. The WD Scorpio Blue 500GB drive had a much faster peak read speed of 75MBps and a write speed of 75MBps.
50MB Files Test:
Benchmark Results: When lowering the file size down to 50MB the Seagate Momentus 7200.2 200GB hard drive had a lower peak read speed of 56MBps and the same write speed of 49MBps. The WD Scorpio Blue 500GB drive, on the other hand, had better performance and a faster peak read speed of 82MBps and a write speed of 80MBps.
