3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.

The Entry settings were used for testing, so a resolution of 1024x768 was used. Performance and Extreme presets were unable to be used since the ASUS N81Vp does not support 1280x1024 and 1920x1200 resolutions.

3dmark Vantage Benchmark Results

Benchmark Results: The ASUS N81Vp scored E8104, which is a respectable score for a notebook! To be honest this score is actually high enough to pass up some entry level desktop solutions, so the ASUS N81Vp is no slouch.

Since the ASUS N81Vp does not support 1280x1024 on the LCD display I plugged in a desktop monitor and ran the laptop at a higher resolution in order to run the benchmark. This way you can run the performance test and compare it to desktop systems to see how the performance of this notebook compares to desktop systems.

Benchmark Results: With the performance preset the ASUS N81Vp achieved a score of P2260!
