Overclocking
Armed with only ATI Overdrive in the Catalyst Control Center, we set out to see what additional performance we could get out of our Diamond 4870 1GB.
With an increase of 40MHz core speed and 200MHz (effective MHz) on the memory we aren't going break any performance records, but a free bump in performance is always great!
As you can see, the increased clock speeds did translate into better performance in 3D Mark Vantage. Unfortunately, we still weren't able to match the GTX 260 core 216 here, but keep in mind that Vantage won't always reflect the way a card will perform in a real game.
