Overclocking
When it comes to overclocking, the EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition is already factory overclocked, but we wanted even more performance. The SuperClocked version of the EVGA GeForce GTX 260 features a 50MHz higher core clock, 106MHz higher memory clock and a 108MHz higher shader clock frequency than a standard clocked card, so keep that in mind.
Using the EVGA Precision GTX 280/260 overclocking utility we pushed the limits of the card and found the highest that we could get it was 710MHz on the core with the shaders locked at 1531MHz. This blows away a dead stock GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 that has the shaders at 1242MHz and even the Superclocked edition runs at 1350MHz. The memory was bumped up from 1053MHz up to 1200MHz with no problems. The end result was a 3DMark Vantage Extreme score of X5179, which is great considering the card got X4596 with the default settings. This overclock boosted 3DMark Vantage performance by 12.7%!
