Final Thoughts and Conclusions
Corsair has done a great job on the Flash Voyager Mini, and for such a small device the performance was actually better than I expected. The Corsair Flash Voyager Mini was not designed to be a speed demon, but the benchmarks showed that it wasn't all that slow. The write performance on the drives could use some work as writing 8GB of data at just over 2MB/sec does take a fair amount of time. Once you get the data written to the drives the read throughput on both the 4GB and 8GB Voyager Mini drives was great!
The Corsair Flash Voyager Mini supports Windows ME and above, as well as Linux (from kernel 2.4.2 and above) and Mac OS 9.x and later, so it should be plug-in-play compatible with any of those operating systems with a USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 port. When it comes to pricing, the 4GB version can be found for just $19.70 plus shipping, which is a great price thanks to how cheap Flash memory has become. The 8GB version was just released and is not listed on any major retailers' sites. I contacted Corsair for the MSRP and was told that it is $49.99 for the 8GB drive, but the street price will be lower when they fully hit the market. If you are looking for a small USB drive that is under one and a half inches in length and won't break the bank you'll want to take a closer look at this product.
Legit Bottom Line: The Corsair Flash Voyager Mini USB drives are small and compact, but still offer nearly all the features found in the Voyager series!
