Final Thoughts and Conclusions
The Corsair TWIN3X2048-1800C7DF G DDR3 1800MHz CAS 7 DOMINATOR with Airflow Fan memory kit is a dream come true for enthusiasts worldwide as it will eliminate the system memory from being a performance bottleneck on todays cutting edge DDR3 platforms. With the Intel X38 Express chipset coming out sometime in September 2007 one can only hope for even better DDR3 memory performance as Intel originally designed the X38 Express chipset for DDR3 memory. It should be noted though that a number of Tier 1 motherboard manufacturers will be bringing out DDR2 based Intel X38 Express chipset based motherboards, so it will be interesting to see how that all turns out next month.
For now the DDR3 memory market is aimed at the Intel P35 Express chipset and motherboards like the ASUS P5K3 Deluxe and the Gigabyte P35T-DQ6 have been found to be great overclockers when paired with the latest Intel LGA775 processors. If you happen to be looking at picking up one of these motherboards or already own one then the Corsair TWIN3X2048-1800C7DF memory kit should be on the top of your shopping list if you want a memory kit that is like a Swiss Army Knife. Being able to run various timings from 1333MHz to over 1900MHz this kit is a tweakers dream and if you ever end up in a natural disaster we wouldn't be surprised if you could use the top of Dual-path Heat Xchange (DHX) heat sinks like a saw to get out of a collapsed house or to cut up some fire wood for survival.
The price tag on this memory kit is enough to scare many folks off, but for those that have $645 available for the 2GB kit of memory they will not be disappointed. If you look at competing brands other ultra low-latency kits have an MSRP of $800, so in a sense these are a bargain!
Legit Bottom Line: Corsair has done it yet again, the TWIN3X2048-1800C7DF memory kit has proven it's worth and is the fastest DDR3 memory kit that we have seen to date.
