Overclocking
Armed with NTune we set out to see how far we could overclock this little beasty. After our last run in with the 8800 GTX XXX I was not expecting much.

It turns out I was very wrong. I was amazed to find that I could clock the core speed a full 130MHz over the reference 8800 GTS 320MB and 50MHz more than the XXX ships with. What's more is the very impressive memory overclock. The Hynix IC's were able to go from a pedestrian 1800 MHz clock speed all the way to 2070MHz!!! In past dealings with 8800 series card memory speed made quite a difference. With this bad ass overclock we fired up 3DMark06, Company of Heroes, and Tomb Raider: Legend to see how close we could come to GTX performance.
Oveclocked performance

Company of Heroes

Tomb Raider: Legend

Once overclocked, our XFX 8800 GTS 320MB was putting up some outstanding numbers compared to the standard 8800 GTS 320MB. While not quite up to the level of the GTX models the much more affordable GTS showed that it is capable of delivering a far better gaming experience than anything near its $320 price tag.
