Overclocking
Since this card is at a popular enthusiast price we took it upon ourselves to see what kind of overclock we could get out of our X1900XT.
Armed with just CCC we enabled overdrive and let it find the optimal clocks for our card and what we ended up with was 668MHz core/ and 1.53GHz memory. While 7% is a far cry from the 30% overclock we have seen from NVIDIA 7900 GS, it is a free and healthy bump in speed, and without adjusting the voltages. Taking the card higher than this resulted in artifacts or the dreaded GPU recover. Below is the performance increase we saw.
Call Of Duty 2:
X³ Reunion:
With our 7% core overclock and 6% memory overclock we see between 5-7% gain in performance in our testing here. While the numbers aren't huge this is a very good gain for such a modest increase of clocks. With some changes to voltage and a good aftermarket cooler could yield some very nice numbers as we've heard reports of great overclocks from the X1900's.
