Overclocking
XFX has already given us a huge amount of performance by overclocking their 7950GX2 XXX edition but how much more could we add to that? After installing Coolbits we were then able to adjust the clock settings manually in the new control panel.

Although we did see higher numbers, load testing revealed artifacts, this was the highest stable overclock. We were able to gain an additional 23MHz on the GPU core and 55MHz on memory. These are very mild increases and are limited by the heat this video card produces.

Back at default clock speeds we see the idle temp after 15 minutes of non-use.

And after an hour of looping 3D Mark 2005 "Canyon" test we see the load temp reach 80c as logged in the NVIDIA control panel. If you want more overclock out of this card you'll have to find some way to keep it cool.
