Overclocking
Overclocking
Even though this video card is overclocked directly from XFX, we decided to do just a little overclocking of our own to see how much headroom was left in our 7600GT. For the sake of simplicity we allowed the driver to do the overclocking for us by using the "detect optimal frequencies" feature in CoolBits. A moment later the screen had refreshed and we were greeted with a modest overclock of 609 MHz core and 1690 MHz memory, a gain of 19MHz and 90MHz respectively.

When you compare this to the reference 7600GT at 560 MHz / 1.4 GHz it?s clear that the XXX edition is built for speed.
Here are the results of 3d Mark 2006 after overclocking:

And results from X3: Reunion:

For a modest overclock we see a nice increase across the board. I can only imagine what a larger heatsink would allow this card to clock up to.
