"The TWINX2048-3200C2 is a pair of 1024 MByte DDR SDRAM DIMMs designed for extreme speed are some of the fastest 1 GByte modules available. TWINX matched memory pairs are specifically designed for motherboards using chipsets with dual memory channels. This part delivers outstanding performance at high clock speeds. It has been tested extensively in a variety of motherboards commonly used in gaming rigs. This memory has been verified to operate at 200 MHz (DDR400) at aggressive latencies of 2-3-3-6. This module is also available as a single module."- Corsair Website.

The TWINX2048-3200C2 modules we'll start off with feature black aluminum heat spreaders adorned with the Corsair logo and a small label bearing the module's pertinent information. Underneath the heatspreaders are INFINEON Die Rev B. which operate very well at their rated speeds, however they are not known for their overclocking potential.
As you can tell, these are rated at DDR400 with timings of 2-3-3-6 and 2.75V. Upon booting my DFI LANParty NF4 board recognized the memory with default timings of 3-3-3-8 at DDR400. As always, you should double check your memory timings in the BIOS after installing a new kit in your system.
Starting out at 200FSB (DDR400) these modules ran extremely well at 2-3-2-5, a nice surprise considering their rated timings of 2-3-3-6. Loosening the timings to 2.5-3-3-6 without raising the voltage took me up to DDR470. Further loosening the timings to 3-3-3-8 only took me to DDR474, making me believe I had reached the best this kit had to offer. My hunch was confirmed when increasing the voltage to 2.9V with timings of 3-4-4-8 failed to gain me any higher clock.
At just under $220 after a mail in rebate(exclusively at Newegg.com), Corsair's TWINX2048-3200C2 is a nice alternative for someone who wants the benefits 2GB of system memory provide without paying too much. If you plan on a modest overclock, or have a system that is not overclocking friendly, the TWINX2048-3200C2 is definitely worth your consideration.
