HD Tune Pro
HD Tune Pro 5.0 is the upgraded version of HD Tune which allows you to benchmark many aspects of a hard drive including write, read, and file performance. It also offers other features such as secure erasing, AAM setting, folder usage view, and disk monitor.
Read Performance Testing
Benchmark Results: The Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro 750GB had an average read speed of 97.4MB/s with a burst speed of 180.1MB/s and an access time of 16.1ms which is very good for an external drive. As expected the read speed had a nice curve from 126 MB/s at the outer platters down to 58 MB/s at the inner ring.
Write Performance Testing
Benchmark Results: The Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro 750GB had an average write speed of 92.7MB/s with a burst speed of 181.0MB/s and an access time of 15.1ms. Again very nice performance and showing the value of a 7200RPM drive on a USB 3.0 connection
File Testing
Benchmark Results: Very good performance in line with the other tests with an average read of 119 MB/s and writes of 110 MB/s
