SATA 6 Performance Testing
HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device possible.

The SATA6 Testing was done using Crucial RealSSD C300 256Gb SATA6 SSD drive.

Benchmark Results: The GIGABYTE G1 Assassin X58 motherboard did a solid job in our SATA 6 performance testing. The Average read of 318MB/s was enough to surpass the performance of many of our Intel P67 motherboards which use a controller integrated in to the P67 chipset. The Average writes of 202.63MB/s, while still quite respectable, weren't quite as fast as some of the P67 boards, though it was able to edge out the GIGABYTE P67A-UD4.
HD Tune Pro 4.01 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes many new features such as write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting, folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file benchmark.

Benchmark Results: The GIGABYTE G1 Assassin X58 motherboard once again shows that it is here and it means business. The Average read of 306.8MB/s was enough to push past all of our boards except for the BIOSTAR TP67XE. The Average write of 221.43MB/s was enough to edge out all of the boards!
