Intel Unveils Sandy Bridge: Core i7 2600K, i5 2500K, i5 2400, i3 2100 CPUs

Test Setup

Our test systems were all set up with a fresh install of Windows 7 64 Ultimate Edition with the latest Windows Updates. Video card drivers for the AMD Radeon HD 6950 were Catalyst 10.12. All systems had the very latest BIOS updates and system drivers. The Intel Sandy Bridge DP67BG motherboard had BIOS BGP6710J.86A.1780 which is the latest from Intel.

The Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB memory kit has an SPD of 1333MHz 9-9-9-24 1t and that is where it was run for all DDR3 platforms, except in the case of the Core i7 2600K at 4.9GHz where it was run at 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 2t.
