3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.

The Extreme settings were used for testing, so a resolution of 1920x1200 was used.

Benchmark Results: The AMD Radeon HD 6870 performance of the reference design is nearly identical to the cards from Sapphire and XFX since all three of the cards run at the same clock speeds and have the same PCB design. The Diamond Multimedia Radeon HD 6870 XOC is slightly overclocked from the factory and has better performance. In fact, we see the Diamond Radeon HD 6870 XOC performing better than a reference clocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX470 by ASUS! Not bad performance from the AMD Radeon HD 6870 cards.
