Prolimatech Super Mega CPU Cooler Review

Temperature Testing Results
Since Prolimatech says that you need to run a fan with the Super Mega, but does not provide one, I used a 120mm fan I had available. It's the fan from the Corsair A70. It is rated to push 61.2 CFM at 2000 RPM and run at 31.5 dBA.
With the system running at a stock clock of 2.8GHz and voltage set to auto the stock Intel cooler was doing all it could to stay under 80*C. With the Super Mega the temps were much better, coming in at a very nice 54.25*C with the stock springs and 53.75*C with the 70lb springs. There was only a 1/2 degree between the stock springs and the 70lb springs; I was hoping to see a little more of an improvement.
Since the Intel retail cooler was doing all it could to handle the stock 2.8GHz I didn't even attempt to use it at 3.5GHz -- I knew it wouldn't be pretty. The Super Mega handled it very well, running at just slightly over 60*C at 60.25*C with the stock springs and 59.75*C with the 70lb springs. Not much of a gain using the 70lbs springs -- still only a 1/2 degree gain.
With the system cranked up to 4GHz running 1.35v on the CPU the Super Mega cooled our Intel i7-930 to a very nice 69.5*C with the 70lb springs. That is a full 10 degrees cooler than the stock cooler at stock CPU settings. With the stock springs the Super Mega was still performing very nicely, cooling the CPU to 70.25*C. The temp difference again between the springs was less than a degree with the system at full load.
