Final Thoughts on the ASRock 880G Extreme3 Motherboard
The performance of
the ASRock 880G Extreme3 was just as we expected. It performs very well and gives you a great platform for your upgrade dollars. As a bonus, UCC was able to unlock the fourth core, which not all boards (like the ECS board we tested against) are able to do. You will not be disappointed with the way this board handles at all.
The bundle of the
board was pretty bleh! But most are these days. You are not paying for any fluff, so you are not going to get any!
The features of this board are plentiful with the addition of USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet and a total of three PCI Express slots. You get a lot of bang for your buck that is not seen on other boards near this price point.
The layout of board
was fantastic! No issues at all were encountered as we set the board up. Everything is laid out in a logical manner and access to every area of the board was easy, even after we set it up.
Overclocking on
this board was a purely enjoyable experience. I can honestly say that I am not much of an overclocker any more, but this board gave me a scratch for the little bit of itch in overclocking that I do have. It was fun... a lot of fun, and we saw great results because of it! This is certainly a great board to consider for any serious overclocker!
Pricing of the
board at time of press was right at $109.99, which is an absolute steal for a board that has the features and overclocking ability that this board has. You will not find a nicer board anywhere near this price. This certainly is a great value!
Legit Bottom Line: This is one heck of a board! It not only has great value in features and performance, but it overclocks like no $100 board should! The ASRock 880G Extreme3 is certainly worthy of our Value Award!
