Conclusion and Final Thoughts

Overall I’m happy with the Scythe Yasya CPU cooler. It has a very unique look to it with the Trident Multi Layer Fin design and the fins themselves have a mirror finish to them. The fan was a little different with the fan controller on the PWM fan, but it allows you to fine tune the fan to the noise/performance level you want.
I can’t say that I love the idea of using the push pin style mounting system, but the whole installation is tool-less and took less than 2 minutes to install. This method does have its pros, though, as you don't have to remove the motherboard to take off the CPU cooler if your case doesn't have a cut out in it for backplate removal. The Scythe Yasya is also light compared to some of the coolers I have looked at this year so it should be fine. The Yasya comes with a single fan and a single set of fan clips. It can support two fans so it would have been nice to have had a second set of fan clips.

The Slip Stream 120mm PWM adjustable fan is also available if you want to add a second fan. The part number is SY1225SL12HPVC and costs around $15. The fan can get a little loud on high running 100%, so in an open mesh style case it could be an issue. On low the fan was barely noticeable in my M998 case. Also, on high the fan can move some air -- 110 CFM. Sticking my hand behind the rear exhaust case fan I could feel it getting overpowered by the fan on the Yasya, so I have no doubt that it's pushing 110 CFM. With the Yasya’s fan on low and running 100% it’s still moving a fare amount of air at 76 CFM. It would be interesting to see how a pair of these on low would perform.
The Yasya can be found for as little as $44.99 +shipping. At this price the Yasya is in the middle of the road price-wise, and for its performance a good buy. In all of our tests the Yasya was in the top 10, and nipping at the heels of coolers that cost $20-40 more.
Legit Bottom Line: The Yasya by Scythe is a unique looking cooler that can perform all while being easy on the eyes and wallet.
