ECS also had their new P55H-AK motherboard on display. This board features the current generation Intel Socket LGA-1156 socket and uses the Intel P55 Express chipset. The P55H-AK will be ECS' top enthusiast board for this chipset series. It supports full speed SLI and Crossfire since the board features the NVIDIA NF200 chipset and a PLX bridge chip that provides additional PCI Express lanes. The board uses the Realtek ALC899 chip for the 7.1 channel audio and the board will also have an add-in Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2 card.
ECS P55H-AK Motherboard Features:
- CPU - Intel Core i5/i7 processors
- Memory - 4x Dual Channel DDR3 up to 16GB
- Storage - 2x SATA III 6Gbps/2x eSATA III 6Gbps/6x SATA II 3Gbps
- USB - 4 USB 3.0 & 12 USB 2.0
- LAN - 2 Gigabyte LAN w/ Teaming
- Audio - Integrated 7.1 Channel w/ Optical Out
- Expansion - 3x PCIe Gen 2 x16, 2x PCIe x1, 2x PCI
ECS is still an NVIDIA partner and had numerous GeForce video cards on display that even included the GeForce GTX 465 that just came out last week. ECS uses Arctic Cooling coolers on some of their custom GeForce cards that help improve cooling and it also helps lower noise levels.
ECS has had their R&D team working late as they have been working to implement the power-efficiency "Deep Green Technology" into many upcoming motherboards to lower power consumption. By having this technology, ECS boards can consume just 0.001W when the system is in soft-off mode. That is better than EuP’s standard of 0.25W that will be required by 2013. Deep Green Technology implementation enables each motherboard to reduce 1.161 kilogram carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year which helps mitigate climate changes and keeps the Earth sustainable. ECS plans to implement Deep Green Technology into all products including ECS' latest 6, 5 and 5 series chipset by Intel, as well as the latest 8 series chipset by AMD.
ECS had a personal portable WiMAX router on display that was pretty slick. The ECS R211 is a fairly small device allows you to share your WiMAX
connectivity with those around you via a Wi-Fi b/g signal and can connect to up to eight devices.
This device
sports a built-in LCD display, multi-colored LED indicator and a rather nice looking
charge station. For some reason it looks a bit like an Apple product.
