EVGA was also showing off their GeForce GTX 470 that features a new back plate that has larger holes in it for hot air to get out easier. EVGA said that changing this plate has reduced temperatures by 5C alone, which is amazing.
The picture above is what NVIDIA uses on reference GeForce GTX 470 graphics cards. By increasing the size of these air vents and making slots just above the DVI ports EVGA has done something great that really helps the user experience.
EVGA also added an aluminum back plate to the card that is said to reduce temperatures by another 2C by acting like a heat sink. With the back plate and the the back panel EVGA was able to drop the cards load temperatures by 7C!
EVGA was also showing off their power supply line that is rather neat as it has an adjustable +12V power rail and cooling fan. The EVGA Classified SR-2 Power Supply takes high performance power to
the next level as it is rated at 1200W, and can peak at over 1500W of
output. With 6 +12v rails capable of putting out 38A a piece, it's clear
how this PSU was powering the demo system we showed you in the first page of this article. SOme specs on this power supply include:
- Over 1500W Peak Power
- 6 +12v rails rated at 38 amps each
- Adjustable +12v Rail
- Adjustable Fan speed
EVGA was also showing off some of their new Intel X58 boards that were now sporting SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connectors along with SATA 6Gbps SATA headers.
Pretty much all of the boards have been updated now.
Here you can see the two blue USB
3.0 ports on the back panel.
That is it from EVGA! Stay tuned for more coverage from other companies!!
