Overclocking the EVGA GeForce GTX 465
Now that we have seen how well the Galaxy GeForce GTX 465 will overclock, it's time to see if we can squeeze any more out of the already overclocked EVGA GeForce GTX 465 SC Edition. To overclock the EVGA GeForce GTX 465 SC Edition I will fire up EVGA's Precision software and see what we can do.
The EVGA GeForce GTX 465 is starting out at 625MHz core clock and 810MHz for the memory. Deciding to go for broke, I brought the EVGA GeForce GTX 465 right up to the speeds we were able to achieve with the Galaxy GeForce GTX 465. At those speeds 813MHz/905MHz the EVGA GeForce GTX 465 ran like a champ. The fact that it was able to go straight to those speeds made me decide to push it harder.
I was able to push the limits of the EVGA GeForce GTX 465 just a bit higher. I was able to hit 850MHz on the core which is a 36% increase over the factory over clock. The memory was able to hit 1000MHz, which is a 23.5% increase!
Running 3DMark Vantage after the over clocking session we found ourselves with a gain of 4641 points over all! That is an impressive 31.7% boost in the overall performance! The GPU score also went up nearly 4000 points as well; that is an impressive 33.6% as well.
With the EVGA GeForce GTX 465 overclocked we see a significant performance increase, much as we did when the Galaxy GeForce GTX 465 was overclocked. At both resolutions we saw a performance gain of ~32% which was slightly more than the Galaxy GeForce GTX 465!
