AS SSD Benchmark

A new benchmark is in the works for Solid State Drives - AS SSD Benchmark. We have run this benchmark for nearly a year now and found that it is a great SSD benchmark that shows 4K read and write speeds that so many of our readers want to know about.

AS SSD Benchmark Results

Benchmark Results:  The 4K tests were observed at 16MB/s read and 17MB/s write. These aren't high scores, but this is a desktop product and not an enterprise SSD. Roughly 70% of hard drive usage is doing large file sequential reads and writes and for that the Western Digital SiliconEdge Blue 256GB SSD had respectable read and write speeds of 240MB/s and 176MB/s.

Copy Benchmark Results: The Copy benchmark test showed some decent performance numbers with the average transfer speed being ~109MB/s.
