The Radeon HD 5750 OC
Today we have the opportunity to look at the Diamond Radeon HD5750 OC video card. There are a few features about this card that break away from the reference design. The first thing I noticed when looking at the card is that it uses a bright red PCB. Possibly the most important feature, though, is the speed of the card. It comes overclocked from the factory. It also uses a third party cooler in order to reduce noise and temperatures.
Based on ATI's Juniper core the Diamond Radeon HD5750 is virtually identical to all other HD5750's with a few exceptions. Instead of the default core clock of 700MHz it has a factory overclock of 720MHz. The GDDR5 memory is also overclocked from 1150MHz to 1170MHz. While it may not make the Diamond Radeon HD5750 the world's fastest card, every MHz helps.
Though only clocked at 1170MHz the Hynix GDDR5 memory is rated for 1250MHz. With any luck that should give us some head room when we begin to overclock later on.
Like the other HD5750's the Diamond Radeon HD5750 only Requires a 450 Watt power supply with 1, 75-watt 6pin PCIe power connector.
Here you can see you get the standard connectors on the Diamond Radeon HD5750. The DisplayPort on the left side is required to take advantage of ATI's EyeFinity technology. The remaining monitors can be any combination of the remaining connectors.
The cooling solution is provided by Arctic Cooling. The fan is an eleven blade design which is intended to minimize noise.
The heatsink is an all aluminum construction. The contact surface of the aluminum heatsink is a little on the rough side; if you drag your fingernail on it you can feel the cutter paths. Weighing in at approximately 125 grams with 40 individual fins it should be enough to dissipate the heat generated by the Diamond Radeon HD5750; we will see how well it does later in the article.
