SandDisk's 32GB Extreme SDHC Flash Card
In June of 2009 SanDisk announced that they were coming out with the 32GB Extreme SDHC card, the world’s fastest 32 gigabyte SDHC card on the market. The 32GB Extreme SDHC card features Class 10 performance, up to 30 megabytes per second (MB/s) read and write speeds, storage for up to 2500 RAW images, and operation at extended temperatures ranging from minus 13 F (minus 25 C) to 185 F (85 C). These features clearly help digital photographers push the boundaries of today’s DSLR cameras. With more consumers having cameras capable of shooting HD video having a high capacity memory card is key and with 32GB of memory is the way to go.

When the SanDisk 32GB Extreme SDHC card hit store shelves available in August 2009 the card the MSRP on the card was a wallet busting $388.99! Now that four months have gone by the price has come down and you can fine e-tailers selling the cards for just $249.73 shipped right now. That may still sound like a ton of money, but that is 36% off the MSRP and the SanDisk Extreme SDHC cards are also available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities at lower price points. Today, we are taking a closer look at the 32GB monster that is clearly aimed at professionals looking for a card that offers large storage, lightning-fast speed and professional-grade reliability.

The SanDisk Extreme SDHC Card 30MB/s 32GB (part number SDSDX3-032G-A31) comes in a nice looking cardboard box that was designed for store front use. The box clearly states the key features of the cards, but here is a quick run down of them for you in greater detail.

- Extreme speed at up to 30MB/second read/write (200X)
- Extreme capacities available in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB

Opening up the SanDisk Extreme SDHC Card 30MB/s 32GB box we found the only contents inside the package were the 32GB SDHC card and a piece of paper with a serial number for RescuePRO. With RescuePro, you can easily recover accidentally deleted images, lost digital images or data from any SanDisk memory card, RescuePro recovers images documents, mail, video, music or just about anything. The recovery software is made by a company called LC Technology and a single machine license for Windows will cost you $40, so the included software is a nice touch. No instructions were included, but you really don't need any as you just put the card in the device that you want to use it in.

Flipping the card over you can see the nine pins that are used for data transfer and the SanDisk Logo.
