3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.

The Entry settings were used for testing, so a resolution of 1024x768 was used.

Benchmark Results: The Intel HD Graphics in the ASUS K42F appear to better than the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD used in the HP DV4-1555dx notebook as you can see from the chart above. The Arrandale system has GPU score is nearly 50% faster and a CPU score that is nearly twice as fast as Intel's last generation notebook technology. Let's take a look at a real game and see if we can see a 50% performance game in a real-world application rather than just a synthetic test.
