A Closer Look

We will start by looking at the top. The PSU’s design is in XFX’s color scheme of green and black; the style has a military feel to it.

On the cable end of the PSU we can see all the modular cable ports. As you can see from the image the PSU is not 100% modular. The main 24pin, 4+4 CPU, 8 pin CPU, two 6+2pin VGA, and two 8pin VGA are hard wired.

On the back of the PSU we can see the XFX logo, power switch, and power plug port.

To one side we have the PSU power rating sticker.

To the other side we have the XFX black edition logo.

The cables you get with the XFX 850W Black Edition are nice and long. The main fixed power cables are approximately 22 inches long stretched out.
The modular cables for the 4 pin molex and SATA power connectors are in staggered lengths. With the longest being 36 inches, reaching the top of a tall case shouldn’t be too big of an issue. To get a little better look at the spacing of the plugs you can click on the above image for a bigger version you don't have to squint at.
