The Test System

All testing was done on a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with all the latest updates installed. All benchmarks were completed on the desktop with no other software programs running. The Corsair DOMINATOR memory modules were run in triple-channel mode at 1866MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings. The NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards were benchmarked with Forceware 191.00 drivers; the ATI Radeon HD graphics cards were tested with 9.9 CATALYST drivers. The ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard was run using BIOS 0610 with the processor running stock settings.

** NOTICE ** NVIDIA asked us to use Forceware 191.00 drivers as they promised us the driver build would be available to the public this week.  During benchmarking we noticed some poor performance numbers with the GeForce GTX 295 graphics card, and just 48 hours before the posting of this article realized that NVIDIA made an error when building the driver and the result was poor performance on just the GeForce GTX 295 video card.  They asked us to remove the GeForce GTX 295 from our charts, but we are currently at the Intel Developer Forum and about 1500 miles from our test system and don't have the time or resources to do so right now. NVIDIA has once again promised Legit Reviews that the issue will be fixed with public release of this driver later this week.
