Battery Life
A long battery life in a netbook is very crucial. When buying a netbook, consumers want to know that it is going to get the job done without shutting off mid-surf. According to ASUS's website, the ASUS EeePC 1005HA (Seashell) has a long-lasting battery of 10.5 hours!! I don't know about you, but staring at a computer screen for that long would certainly make my eyes go buggy. It certainly sounds like ASUS is responding to consumer demands, and we'll find out for sure how they did by comparing the Eee PC 1005HA to other ASUS and MSI netbooks including the N10Jc, Eee PC 1000HE and MSI U100 netbooks!
As you can see from the battery life graph, the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA Seashell blew the other netbooks out of the water with almost 3 hours more idle time than the ASUS Eee PC 1000HE and over 5 hours more idle time than the next runner up, the ASUS N10Jc-A1 with Intel GMA 950 graphics. When it comes to putting a load on the netbook, such as playing a movie, the battery lost approximately 35% of its life, which is towards the upper end of the other mobile computers compared on the chart. You should take comfort in knowing, however, that you should have no problems with battery life, no matter what you are doing with this netbook!
