3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance
benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and
DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests,
several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark
Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed
specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API
from Microsoft.

The Entry settings were used for testing, so a resolution of 1024×768 was used.

3dmark Vantage Benchmark Results

Benchmark Results: The Intel Core i7 980X once again destroyed the competition in this benchmark with an insane CPU Score of 32583! This score is 50% higher than the 21679 that we got with the Intel Core i7 975 processor. The GPU Score seems to be GPU limited at around 61,000 3DMarks since we didn’t see much of a gain on the FPS in the game benchmarks. The overall score of this benchmark with a Core i7 980X processor and a single Radeon HD 5870 graphics card broke the 50,000 3DMark level, which is a first for a single processor and single graphics card with just one GPU on-board.
