GIGABYTE Z87X-OC Force Audio Performance

  • GIGABYTE Z87X-OC Force – Realtek ALC898 codec
  • ASUS Z87-Pro – Realtek ALC1150 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC
  • ASUS ROG Maximus VI Hero – Supreme FX

The GIGABYTE Z87X-OC Force may not have the latest Realtek ALC1150 High definition audio codec, but it was certainly able to hold its own. The Realtek ALC898 High Definition audio codec was able to hit the same general performance rating of ‘Very Good’ as our other Intel Z87 motherboards. Our other boards were able to hit some of the sub scores higher, but let’s keep in mind that the Z87X-OC Force is aimed at those looking for a great overclocking board and that’s where GIGABYTE sank in their time.
