Overclocking On The ASUS A88X-PRO

Overclocking greatly depends on the hardware and the skill of the overclocker; even with the same hardware overclocking success can be different. The APU used in these tests is not designed for the enthusiast, a “K” series APU would be better suited.

The A10-5700 has a base APU Frequency of 100MHz and Ratio of 34, providing the non-turbo speed of 3.4Ghz. We were able to adjust the APU Frequency to 114MHz without the system locking up, giving an overclock speed of 3875MHz, a 14% boost.

CPU-Z confirms the overclock speed of 3875MHz.

Benchmark Results: With a stable 14% overclock of 3875MHz, the Physics score of 3DMark’s Fire Strike increased to 4243 from 3992 at base clock; a 6.4% boost in physics score.
