Wireless Performance Testing

We will be using LAN Speed Test to measure how well the two connection types operate. For wired use, there is the Realtek RTL8111G Gigabit ethernet connection. If wireless is preferred, Gigabyte included the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160, a 1×1 WiFi plus Bluetooth adapter; it is rated for speeds up to 433Mbps, and designed for 4th generation Intel Core processors, so the wireless card is older than the integrated i5-5200u processor. We will be using a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 (R7000) wireless router to enable the connections between the Gigabyte BRIX s and another PC on the network.

The AC 3160, received 35.8Mbps average write speed, while the read speed was 50.15Mbps. As another quick test, I checked SpeedTest.Net and received very similar speeds.
