Running the benchmark on the XFX Radeon HD 6950 we cranked up all the image quality settings in the benchmark to the highest level possible, so we were running 4x AA and 16x AF with SSAO enabled at both 1920×1080 and 1280×1024.
Benchmark Results: The ECS X79R-AX Black Extreme was able to average 61.2 frames per second at 1280×1024. This is 2% behind the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme and only .5% behind the GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD7. Increasing the benchmark resolution to 1920×1080 the ECS X79R-AX was able to average 45.1 frames per second while the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme averaged 45.6 frames per second, a difference of 1.1%.
