Unboxing the Aquaero 5 XT

The Aqua Computer Aquaero 5 XT comes in a somewhat flimsy box which is a bit concerning for a sensitive $200.00 computing device.
Aquaero 5 XT box front
The front of the box is just a large product name and a few marketing lines.
Aquaero 5 XT box top
The top of the box has nice graphics and more robust marketing text in both German and English. The top image is actually the Aquaero Pro, then two of the first generation XT, and finally the remote that is optional with the PRO but included with our Aquaero XT.
Aquaero 5 XT box side
The left side of the box has more marketing text in the dual languages. The back and right side of the box are just blank panels so we didn’t bother taking photos of those.
Aquaero 5 XT box open
When you open the box the manual is laid on top with a thin folded cardboard panel separating the Aquaero 5 XT from the included accessories. We would have liked something a bit more substantial but our unit arrived in working order so maybe we are over reacting.
Aquaero 5 XT box contents
We pulled out all the included components to find a remote (including batteries) that is 3.5″ x 3.5″ x .75″ which is much smaller than the marketing images led us to believe. Aqua Computers also included four analog 50 Ohm temperature sensors, a five pin USB 2.0 cable, and an Aqua Bus connector which is basically a female 3-pin fan header on both sides. The Aqua Bus allows additional product to talk to the Aquaero 5 such as a high power fan header or a multi switch unit for lights and accessories.
