Vertagear Racing Series S-Line SL2000 Gaming Chair Review

Final Thoughts and Conclusions

The Vertagear SL2000 Gaming Chair certainly looks neat and most any gamer will certainly like the racing chair style of this seat. We let a number of people sit in the chair and all commented that it was stiff or firm when it comes to the butt softness test. This is not a soft and squishy executive office chair. The people that tried it out also noted that with the lumbar pillow on the chair that the chair seat seemed short as it didn’t come up to the backs of their knees when sitting. The good news there is that the pillows can easily be removed and then they were happy. Everyone loved how you could recline and lock the seat into your favorite position and that the seat reclined to be nearly flat. With a chair that reclines 170 degrees you could easily sleep in this chair at an overnight LAN party and say goodbye to sleeping on the floor! Chair comfort is highly subjective, but we found this one to be acceptable!

When it comes to build quality we found the chair in general to be solid, but it looks like our chair got beat up a bit on the way to us by DHL. Now might be the perfect time to mention that all Vertagear chairs have a lifetime warranty on the steel frame and a 2-year limited warranty on all the parts against manufacturer defects. If the chair is damaged during shipping and is not in working order you can do a DOA return on it within 15 days of purchase. Normal wear and tear is not covered by the warranty. The customer is responsible for all shipping costs back to the place of purchase, which will be hefty for a chair of this size and weight.

Pricing on the Vertagear SL2000 is $289.99 and it should be available to purchase in the United States shortly. Those over in the UK can pre-order the Vertagear Racing Series S-Line SL2000 Gaming Chair from Overclockers UK for 184.99 inc VAT (154.16 ex VAT). The price tag might feel a bit steep to some for a chair with PVC material, but using real leather would certainly increase the cost more. It will be interesting to see what the price of the Vertagear SL2000 will be on the retail market in the United States when they become available later this summer.

If you are looking for a gaming chair in the $200-$300 USD price range be sure to take a look at the Vertagear SL2000!

Update: The Vertagear Racing Series S-Line SL2000 is now available from Amazon for $289.99 shipped.

Legit Bottom Line: The Vertagear SL2000 gaming chair looks great and was found to be comfortable to use after breaking it in for a few days. Our chair looks like it was banged up by the shipping company, so we await a replacement model to ensure it was just the shipper!
