Final Thoughts and Conclusion

The Plantronics GameCom 780 are easy to adjust and very comfortable to wear. Adjustment is made by sliding each earmuff up or down on its steel support bars. The microphone boom is also semi-rigid where you can bend it in close to your mouth for the perfect fit.

The GameCom 780s upgraded volume and mute button placements are a welcomed change from the GameCom 777. Their placement is easy enough to reach during gameplay and out of the way enough to not be accidentally hit on your keyboard tray during your gaming sessions.

Plantronics GameCom 780 Gaming Headset

The Plantronics GameCom 780 has the best sound reproduction Ive heard from a gaming headset to date. Highs are crisp and clear while lows are deep and throaty. The 40mm drivers do an excellent job of surrounding you in your game or favorite tunes. Overall, the Plantronics GameCom 780 are an amazing headset for under $60 shipped. The only fault (fault being used loosely as it really depends on your gaming style) I can see is that the headphones are not noise-canceling. Plantronics claims this is to allow you to still pay attention to your surroundings while you game, but some (like myself) prefer noise-canceling earmuffs to truly feel engaged in the game. Thats not to say you can hear every little thing through these earmuffs but it is something to keep in mind when making your purchasing decision.

The Plantronics GameCom 780 is available for purchase from most major online retailers with an MSRP of $79.99, although can be found new for less than $57.24 shipped online and are backed by a one year warranty.

Legit Bottom Line: The Plantronics GameCom 780 features some welcomed upgrades from the popular 777 headset and adds style and performance to boot. With online prices well below MSRP the Plantronics GameCom 780 is a must-buy for serious gamers.
