Boundary Benchmark, IndigoBench & Luxmark

Boundary is a multiplayer tactical space-based shooter game by Studio Surgical Scalpels. In this game title, players will engage in fierce team vs team zero gravity firefights and executing low-gravity operations on orbiting space installations against other enemy astroperators and other entities.

Boundary made a stand-alone benchmark available to the media that we used to benchmark the RTX 3080 FE graphics card. We left the settings at default, but did enable and disable DLSS to see how it impacted performance.

IndigoBench is a standalone benchmark application based on Indigo 4’s advanced rendering engine, useful for measuring the performance of modern CPUs and GPUs. Due to the use of industry-standard OpenCL, a wide variety of GPUs from NVIDIA, AMD and Intel are supported.

LuxMark v3.1 Benchmark

LuxMark is a OpenCL cross-platform benchmark tool that has been around since 2009. It was intended as a promotional tool for LuxCoreRender and remains a popular benchmark for those interested in OpenCL performance. LuxMark is now based on LuxCore, the LuxRender v2.x API available under Apache Licence 2.0 and freely usable in open source and commercial applications.

In Luxmark the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT had a good score, but we noticed that the image validation failed. We let AMD know about this issue and they mentioned that RDNA2 was designed with gaming first in mind. Hopefully they’ll be able to address this issue at some point.
