MSI P55-GD85 LGA 1156 Intel Motherboard Review
Test Configuration

To spice things up for this review I decided to overclock the MSI P55-GD85 for the performance benchmarks. Since The highest memory multiplier was DDR3-1600 and I had DDR3-2000C7 sticks I opted for 21×166 which yielded 3.5GHz and DDR3-2000C7. Since my EVGA P55 FTW was on loan to a friend I opted for the Gigabyte P55A-UD6 as a comparison. I set both boards to 21×166, selected the XMP profile on the Corsair Dominator GT 2000C7 sticks, set the vcore to 1.35v, vtt to 1.30v, vdimm to 1.65v, and set the fan to 100% in BIOS. Windows 7 Professional x64 with ATI’s 10.1 drivers with default visual quality settings were used along with the latest versions of the selected benchmarks.
