Memory Bandwidth and Latency Benchmarking

SiSoftware Sandra 2014 SP3:

sandra

Sandra needs no introduction as it is the most popular memory performance benchmark available!

sandra-3300

Benchmark Results: The Sandra Memory bandwidth benchmark found that the Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 16GB 32300MHz memory kit had an aggregate memory performance score of 60GB/s with its default Intel XMP 2.0 profile settings. Not bad, but just slightly ahead of the Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200MHz memory kit that we recently reviewed.

AIDA64 Extreme Edition 4.70 Beta:

AIDA64 Extreme Edition 4.70 software is an excellent benchmarking tool for looking at memory performance on any desktop PC.

Benchmark Results: AIDA64 showed that the Corsair Dominator Series 16GB 3300MHz DDR4 kit with the XMP profile settings had 63,447MB/s of read bandwidth and 48,421MB/s of write bandwidth. The Crucial Ballistix Sport 2400MHz 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 memory kit that we overclocked to 2666MHz with CL12 timings was able to outperform the 3300MHz kit with CL16 timings in the read and copy tests. Tight timings play a huge roll in performance, so you can either look for a memory kit with respectable clock speeds and super tight timings or go for a fast kit with looser timings.

Benchmark Results: When it comes to memory latency we were getting 57.8 ns at 3300MHz, which is the lowest of any memory kit that we have tested to date.
